lap band surgery/ the shrinking woman

on 8/ 24 I had weight loss surgery. they inserted a band around the upper part of my stomach creating a new smaller stomach. It is a Laproscopic porcedure. I came home the next day with just a couple of bandaids. Each bandaid was worth 5K
I am in my third week post op. Doing fine. I am allowed soft foods now. the weight loss has started. I will post pictures soon so you'all can follow the saga of the shrinking woman.

movie day/scraping

I went to see The Dark Knight along with Hell Boy 2. They were both real good. I love sience fiction movies. The Dark Knight is the new Batman movie. Heath Ledger plays The Joker. He is really good. this was his last movie. Hell boy 2 is very funny.

The Gates Scrapbook
I am almost ready to start making new scraping pages. I ordered supplies that I needed and are sorting pictures of Ed and his family to make a Gates Strapbook. I have pictures of his parents, his aunt and uncles. From childhood to our marriage and the kids a babies.

Its that time of the month again. this is when I really miss ED. For 45 years we were the perfect team . I spent money and he balanced the check book, created folders and filed receipts. His files were a work of art. He had a file for the manuels and user documents of every purchase we ever made.

trip to Nevada

I just got a reservation to Reno to go visit my Brother Jack and his wife Jane. I will be flying in on the 28 of July. While I am there I hope to go to Yerington to visit old friends of Ed and I.

My brother Jack has a part time job but he is home by noon so we can go visit in the afternoon.
I will try to see Esther (If she remembers me) Mike and Rosanne. Carol, Lois and Ken and of course all my friends a Dini's. I return home on the 2nd of August. I will post how my trip went then

a whole new back

A few months ago I was having sever back pains and my GP sent me to get mri. "They found degeneritive dics in my back. mostly due to getting older and Arthritis(?) Not bad enough for surgery ( thank God) so Dr Marcos sent me to an Injection theryapist. What a releif. He started with my lower lumbar region. After the 1st injection the pain was reduced greatly. I had a set of three injections and its just great. Oh, I have a little stiffness when I wake but that expected. after all I have an old back. but once I am up and moving its great.

next he did my mid back and next week he starts on my neck. I fee like a whole new me. After the lap band and I have lose my first 50 lbs I think I will take up jogging again

today was a laid back day. I spend most of the day outside in the sun. went to the store for Marsha.

The trip to visit my sons family in palm springs was canceled. It just wasent a good time for them. I will be going at another time.

New life, Washington 2008

I now live the my Daughter Marsha and her family. This weekend we went to a friends in Renton. She was having a huge yard sale. about 10 familys were envloved. Had a nice time visiting with Liz and her neighbors. Marsha and Ron use to live next to Liz.

I am preparing to have lap band surgery on august 14.
